Luis Monzón Atienza holds a PhD from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). His doctoral thesis “Study of the Properties and Mechanism of Action of Bacillus velezensis D-18 for Establishment as a Probiotic Bacterium in Aquaculture” was awarded an honorable mention as one of the best international theses in Animal Health (Valentín Pérez Award – Syva). Throughout his research career, he has focused on the use of probiotics as a sustainable alternative to antibiotics in aquaculture.
