Curriculum Vitae

I possess extensive expertise in the field of fish reproductive physiology, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms governing reproductive function and egg quality across teleost species. My research integrates molecular biology, physiology, and aquaculture applications to uncover how reproductive systems are regulated and how their disruption affects fertility and offspring performance.
During two MSc programs, I conducted in-depth studies on the development of male and female reproductive systems. My PhD research characterized the multiple vitellogenin system in European sea bass, providing new insights into its functional diversity and reproductive significance. As a postdoctoral researcher, I expanded this work to dissect the molecular pathways influencing egg quality, with particular emphasis on the regulatory roles of different vitellogenin forms in reproduction.
My research trajectory has consistently aimed to bridge fundamental biology with practical outcomes for aquaculture. I have led pioneering investigations on reproductive disorders in fish, aiming to develop practical solutions to enhance gamete quality and reproductive success in both established and emerging species. Recognition of my scientific contributions is reflected in several prestigious fellowships—including the Fulbright and Marie Curie Intra-European Postdoctoral Fellowship—as well as competitive national project funding.
Beyond research, I have demonstrated leadership through active participation in international forums, including recent invited talks highlighting advances in fish reproductive physiology. To date, I have published 25 peer-reviewed articles, managed three funded research projects, supervised multiple international trainees under the ERASMUS program, and mentored five MSc students from both national and international institutions. Collectively, my work contributes to advancing fundamental understanding while addressing key reproductive bottlenecks in aquaculture.
