My work focuses on monitoring antimicrobial resistance in marine and aquaculture environments and studying how environmental factors such as antibiotics, metals, and biocides contribute to its spread. I use microbiology and molecular biology approaches to investigate resistance mechanisms in bacterial pathogens, assess risks from a One Health perspective, and explore sustainable strategies to reduce chemical use and limit AMR dissemination in aquaculture.
