I am interested in the anthropogenic causes of contemporary evolution and its ecological consequences.
I have mainly studied fisheries-induced evolution in the lab. I evaluated the cost of life-history adaptations on multiple traits with selected lines of guppies and the ecological consequences of such adaptations in medaka. Other projects involved studying the effect of hypoxia, eutrophication and inbreeding due to habitat destruction on the behaviour and physiology in guppies, sand goby, and the least killifish.
In addition, I have reported the spread of pink salmon in Norway.
After two years working at the Directorate of Fisheries in Norway, I am now involved in several projects on cumulative impact assessments to inform managers and stakeholders about the cumulative anthropogenic pressures acting along the Norwegian coast.
