I'm a marine ecologist interested in how individual fish behave and how their behaviour is influenced by the environment and human activities, mainly fishing. Over the years, I've focused on traits such as chronotypes (daily activity rhythms) to understand how consistent individual differences shape fish ecology and evolution.

 

Along the way, I've worked with various fish tagging techniques, including acoustic telemetry, PIT tags, and external tags, and designed behavioural experiments both in the field and in the lab. I also enjoy working with data analysis.

 

Currently, at the IMR, I'm a postdoctoral researcher in the CodChange project team, where I investigate the impact of fishing and marine protection on the behaviour and phenotypes of Atlantic cod. It's exciting work that connects behaviour, ecology, and evolution.

Research focuses on individual variation in behaviour (e.g., chronotypes, spatial use) and how it is shaped by environmental drivers and anthropogenic pressures, particularly fishing. Combining acoustic telemetry and statistical modelling.

Responsibility: Leading the analysis focused on investigating the effects of fishing and the implementation of MPAs on Atlantic cod behaviour.
