å bedre forstå skjell sin rolle i økosystemer på kysten og i fjordene. Dyrking, havbeite og -utnyttelse av naturlige bestander av skjell. Fokus på hvordan miljøet påvirker skjellenes fødeopptak og vekst, og effekter av skjelldyrking på økosystemet.
å bedre forstå hvordan oppstrømning av næringsrikt dyppvann til de øvre vannlag i fjorder kan øke produksjon av planteplankton og dyr (skjelldyrking) som beiter på algene.
lokalisering og bæreevne i akvakultur, knyttet til utvikling av verktøy for beslutningsstøtte i forvaltning og næring.
