I am a Microbial Ecologist. My research focuses on microzooplankton and their interactions with other components of the pelagic food web. I study how organisms respond to environmental stressors, including both natural and anthropogenic drivers. These protists have a central role in the cycling and transfer of matter and energy in the aquatic systems. Thus, changes in their physiological rates and trophic interactions can significantly affect biogeochemical cycles, ecosystem function and biodiversity.
