Nils Olav Handegard
Arbeidsområde
Eg er interessert i bruk av teknologi i marin økologi og fiskeriforvalting. Eg har arbeidd med utvikling av sensorar og algoritmar for å observera fiskeåtferd, og korleis ein kan nytta desse metodane til å studera antropogen påverking på åtferd og fordeling av fisk og dyreplankton. Eg er og interessert i korleis dess åtferdsendringane påverkar resultata frå trål og akustikktokt. Eg er interessert i bruk av ny metodikk i åtferdsbiologi, og dette har ført til fleire publikasjonar innan teoretisk og anvendt økologi. Eg er og interessert i maskinlæring og bruk av djupe nevrale nettverk, og korleis vi kan nytta desse metodane i fiskeriforvalting og anvendt og teoretisk økologi. Eg har erfaring med e-vitskap, dataforvalting og dataprosesseringsrammeverk, og eg har leia prosjekt og samarbeida tett med HI sitt datasenter på data og prosesseringsløyper for fiskeriforvalting.
Eg har leiarerfaring frå internasjonale organisasjonar og HI. Eg har vore involvert i «International Council for Exploration of the Sea» (ICES) gjennom mange arbeidsgrupper, og eg har leia arbeidsgruppa i fiskeriakustikk «Fisheries Acoustics Science and Technology» (WGFAST) og styringsgruppa som koordinerer ICES sine forskingstokt. Eg har og bidrege til ICES sin strategiplan. Eg har og lang erfaring I prosjektleiing, inkludert store prosjekt med deltakarar frå fleire fagdisiplinar.
