Arbeidsområde
Jeg arbeider hovedsakelig med økologiske spørsmål knyttet til Barentshavet og Polhavet, særlig med forholdet mellom torsk, lodde, sild og plankton i Barentshavet. Jeg er medlem av ICES-arbeidsgruppene for integrert vurdering av Barentshavet (WGIBAR) og Polhavet (WGICA). Jeg tar også del i bestandsvurdering av bestandene i Barentshavet i ICES arbeidsgruppen "Arctic Fisheries Working Group" (AFWG). Jeg er norsk medlem i rådgivningskomiteen ACOM i ICES og bruker mye tid på forvaltningsrådgivning og informasjon knyttet til forvaltning.

1979: Et seks måneders engasjement på Havforskningsinstituttet for å gjøre en litteraturstudie i forbindelse med et planlagt prosejekt med “Dr. Fridtjof Nansen” utenfor Angola.
1981. Et to måneders engasjement ved Havforskningsinstituttet for å opparbeide biologiske prøver fra “Dr. Fridtjof Nansen” sitt tokt utenfor Vestafrika i 1981
1982-1984. Forskjellige tidsavgrensede engasjementer ved Havforskningsinstituttet. Vanlig forskningsarbeid ved avdeling pelagisk fisk. Toktledelse.
1985-1986. Stilling som forsker 1108 ved Havforskningsinstituttet. Toktaktivitet, forskning, overvåkning, bestandsvurdering og rådgivning på pelagiske bestander.
